Our Commitment to Reducing the Climate Crisis
The Together Accounting team acknowledge that there is a climate crisis and that action is needed now. We are fully committed to reducing our impact on the planet but we know how easy it is to claim that we are making sustainable efforts without any substance to back it up, that’s why we’ve been focused on sustainability from the very start! Our Partnership with Ecologi
Ecologi was developed by a group of environmentalists who were frustrated by the lack of action regarding the climate issues faced by the planet. It started by contemplating what could be achieved with small amounts of money, such as the price of a cup of coffee, and how that could be scaled up to utilise the small change of billions of people.
This ethos of lots of people contributing to a collective effort feels like it is the right response to the climate crisis. This is why we have partnered with Ecologi to ensure that we operate in a way that is as sustainable as possible.
Our Ecologi Partnership Progress
Ecologi has devised a tool that is able to analyse small and medium size businesses to understand their carbon footprint. We have used this tool to analyse our current practices and how they contribute to our carbon footprint. This tool considered the types of services we use such as:
- Our cloud software.
- The insurers we use.
- Our travel; including the types of vehicles we use and the distances we travel.
- Our energy supplier and whether they use green/renewable energy.
While this is what we have been working on within our own organisation, partnering with Ecologi means that we are also able to help fund various climate-positive initiatives. These include solar panels, onshore wind power, reforestation, using waste to produce energy and many more! The projects are implemented across the world and more initiatives are developing all the time.
We plant trees on behalf of our staff and clients to reduce our carbon footprint, contribute to reforestation efforts, and support local communities. We believe that even small actions can make a tangible impact on the environment, and we are proud to play our part in mitigating climate change.

Our Net Zero Goal
One of the ways we are making changes to benefit the planet is through our business zero programme. This focuses on our carbon footprint as a business. The business zero programme combines research into our carbon footprint to gain a genuine understanding of the negative impact Together Accounting is having, with a plan to move towards the goal of ‘net zero’.
Being carbon net zero means that here at Together Accounting we will be actively removing the same amount, or more, greenhouse gases from the atmosphere than we produce. During 2022 we averaged 2.5 tCO2e per month. To work towards our net zero goal, we have used this information to review our current practices, including how we travel, what suppliers we use and making smarter decisions to reduce our carbon footprint. Where practices can’t be changed, we are offsetting the emissions produced by working with a partner to plant trees. We aim to be at net zero as quickly as possible.
